On October 5th, 2020, PepsiCo came to meet APICS, and they talked about "Global Procurement". It was interesting to learn how COVID-19 affected PepsiCo's supply chain and how they faced challenges caused by the pandemic. Also, they talked about PepsiCo's working environment and employee's culture. As PepsiCo is internationally located, there are lots of interesting job opportunities globally. On September 28th. 2020, APICS hosted Ford Motor Company, commonly known as Ford, an American multinational automaker that has its main headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Professionals from Ford talked about how to get internship job at Ford, including interviewing tips, networking tips, and how to research company to screen out companies you want. We hope this event was helpful for our members, and we look forward to have more networking opportunity with Ford!

They talked about supplier management program, score carding supplies, and job opportunities at Avantor. Today, we had a workshop with Gore. Gore is an American multinational manufacturing company specializing in products derived from fluoropolymers. At workshop, our members had the opportunity to network with people from Gore and our APICS members,also get to know more about career path at Gore. Thanks to the Global Souring Leader Mark, our members got so much beneficial information!Welcome back! On Monday, September 9th, APICS hosted a workshop with Bose, the manufacturing company which predominantly sells audio equipment in Business Building. During the event, former graduated Supply Chain Major student Paige, who joined Bose as a full-time employee talked about her experiences at Bose. She also introduced two opportunities: Bose's Co-op and Global Supply Chain (Full-Time) programs. At the end of the event, one of our members won a Bose Frames Audio Sunglasses! Thank you again for those came out to the event! On Wednesday March 20th, APICS hosted the second GBM with guest speaker Russ Lawrence, the Director of innovation from the Innovative Manufacturers Center in 103 Business Building. During the meeting, Doctor Lawrence introduced the Idea Economy and Creative Enterprise. He also talked about the key success factor for today's competitive economic landscape, On Wednesday January 23rd, CSCMP & APICS hosted a corporate event with Target in 102 Business Building. It was the first workshop from APICS this semester. This was a really great opportunity for our members to interact with recruiters from Target. During the workshop, recruiters introduced how to make a plan, how to practice to reduce stress while pitching yourself, and how to be thoughtful in your approach. They also went over how to ask for what you want in a job and how to identify leadership opportunities.

This semester we have a couple of interesting events lined up. First on January 30th we welcome Camelot Consulting to talk to the club. In February, we have a tentative arrangement with Target for an information session. Also this semester, there will be more opportunities to participate in case competitions (a few have already been announced on the email list). The club is also in works to try to make available a trip to a distribution center... So keep a look out for that. First of all, this semester, Penn State APCIS will be more involved. This starts on August 22 and 23 where you can find us at both the business club involvement fair and the regular involvement fair (the one in the HUB). Please come and learn about our club (or just say hi). The following Wednesday, the 30th of August, we are going to have our first general body meeting, and are pleased to welcome Amazon who will be coming in to talk to us.
