This semester we have a couple of interesting events lined up. First on January 30th we welcome Camelot Consulting to talk to the club. In February, we have a tentative arrangement with Target for an information session. Also this semester, there will be more opportunities to participate in case competitions (a few have already been announced on the email list). The club is also in works to try to make available a trip to a distribution center... So keep a look out for that. As always, please reach out to us with any questions (email@example.com)
Have a good semester,
As we get ready to return to Penn State, a couple updates are in order. First of all, this semester, Penn State APCIS will be more involved. This starts on August 22 and 23 where you can find us at both the business club involvement fair and the regular involvement fair (the one in the HUB). Please come and learn about our club (or just say hi). The following Wednesday, the 30th of August, we are going to have our first general body meeting, and are pleased to welcome Amazon who will be coming in to talk to us. As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions. To join our email list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or comment on the "contact us" section of this website.

The 2017 APICS Executive Board is ready for a new semester. The board is focusing on providing resources for their general body members primarily in the areas of Professional Development and Case Studies. Come to the Smeal Involvement Fair January 24th and visit the APICS table to learn more about the organization and see how the resources we provide can benefit your professional pursuit!
Last night, we held our second general body meeting at the Business Building. The meeting was filled with games, prizes, and food! During the meeting, President Doris showed sample CPIM exam questions to our members and whoever got the most answers correct won a $15 Starbucks gift card. After going through the questions, we would explain why or why not that was the correct answer; both the Executive board members and club members shared their thoughts. Later, we did a short case study on Trader Joe's and then a "how to" for preparing for interviews. Members were engaged and everyone was learning and having fun at the same time! Make sure to come out to our third general meeting!

It is right after the career fair and students are getting busier with interviews as companies are getting back to us. So, we need all the interview tips we can get. Doug, a speaker from the smeal corporate office came to speak to us tonight. Doug explained the entire process of an interview and how to prepare of it. We start by researching the company website and learn as much as we can about it. Then we proceed to think about how we might answer the questions being asked at the interview. The best approach to answering questions is the STAR(R) method.
Doug advises us to write our planned answers down and practice them as much alone and with the help of a friend or family. Practice makes perfect. We also learn what a professional brand is and how it is influenced- through our attire or even, manner of speaking. We must never lie and always be careful of what we post on the social media as our recruiter may come across that.
